The Company has internally modeled an open pit shell containing the identified mineralization and has chosen to advance these two zones into production. Mine ramp preparation and waste stripping was completed during January and February 2024 and production blasting and mining of mineralized material commenced at the end of February 2024.
“Now that the SART Zinc circuit’s commissioning has been completed and is operational, we are seeing an increase in the leaching of gold and silver, in addition to the production of a saleable zinc and copper product. We anticipate further increases in silver and gold production over the coming months as the extraction of zinc and copper from the heap leach solution improves the precious metal leachability in the heap,” Brad Langille, President and CEO stated.

Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. reports strong gold and gold equivalent production for the first quarter of 2024 from its five operating mines in West Africa and Latin America. Gold and silver production for the quarter was 89,678 ounces and 1.1 million ounces, respectively, or 112,543 gold equivalent ounces, including lead and zinc by-products.
