El Colectivo GeoComunes, que se dedica a la cartografía colaborativa de denuncia de mega proyectos y conflictos socio-ambientales en México, realizó una cartografía de la región del Istmo de Tehuantepec con, al menos, 30 zonas concesionadas a empresas para la explotación minera no metálica como arena sílica, azufre, grafito, sal, sulfato de sodio, sulfato de magnesio, granito, mármol, yeso, entre otros.

Minera Alamos Inc. Begins Phased Development of Los Verdes Mine

Minera Alamos Inc. is pleased to announce that it is re-initiating the development of its Los Verdes copper-molybdenum project in Sonora, Mexico. Development plans for the project were detailed in the Company’s Preliminary Economic Assessment issued January 12, 2012. Recent work by Minera Alamos has identified the potential for a phased approach that would begin with an initial small-scale production operation followed by an expansion towards the full project scope. Internal estimates currently target project construction to be initiated in 2016.

Baja producción nacional de acero

Por tercer mes consecutivo la producción de acero en México registró una caída. Durante marzo la producción nacional de acero crudo fue de un millón 625 mil toneladas, una caída de 5.2 respecto al mismo mes de 2014 cuando se registraron un millón 714 mil toneladas, según la Asociación Mundial del Acero (WSA, por sus siglas en inglés).

Alamos Gold Declares Semi-Annual Dividend and Adopts Dividend Reinvestment and Share Purchase Plan

This represents the Company’s 11th consecutive semi-annual dividend and once again demonstrates its commitment to returning value to shareholders. Including the current dividend, the Company has returned a total of $106 million to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases over the past five years.
