VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Jan 24, 2013 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) — Baja Mining Corp. /quotes/zigman/31250 CA:BAJ -5.00% (otcqb:BAJFF) (“Baja”) has been informed by Minera y Metalurgica del Boleo, S.A.P.I. de C.V. (“MMB”) that, as of January 15, 2013, Kores has advanced an additional US$115 million to MMB for continued construction of the Boleo project.


In addition, MMB has advised Baja that the third standstill agreement which expired on January 15, 2013 has been extended. Baja has not yet been informed by MMB of the specifics of the latest standstill extension, and will provide further more information as it becomes available.
