Tarsis Resources Ltd. (TSXV: TCC) (“Tarsis” and “the Company”) is pleased to announce that prospecting in mid-2012 at its Erika property located in southern Mexico, identified in-situ gold-bearing jasperoid breccias, features that are commonly found in Carlin gold systems.

At Erika, four samples of hematitic jasperoid breccias were collected from outcrop and returned assays ranging from 0.17 g/t gold to 0.94 g/t gold.  All samples returned elevated to strongly anomalous arsenic (230 to 3,140 ppm), mercury (1 to 11 ppm), antimony (30 to 195 ppm) and thallium (0.7 to 1.0 ppm).

The jasperoids are located within the core of one of four discrete gold-in-soil anomalies measuring approximately 600 meters by 300 meters with gold values ranging from 10 ppb to 90 ppb gold.  The other three soil anomalies are located 500 meters to 1,500 meters away and have received little to no follow up work since being identified.  All four soil anomalies feature coincident anomalous arsenic (50 to 3,320 ppm) and thallium (1 to 23 ppm) and are coarsely defined by 200 meter by 50 meter spaced samples.

The jasperoid breccias occur within Cretaceous aged limestone, interpreted as representing upper plate rocks.  Diamond drilling during 2011 approximately seven kilometers away identified Carlin-Style mineralization which included moderate to intense decarbonatisation accompanied by arsenian pyrite, orpiment and realgar in association with elevated gold response and moderate to dense concentrations of peripheral calcite veining.

One of the 2011 drillholes returned 2.25 g/t gold over 3.60 meters from within a broader interval of 10.28 meters grading 1.14 g/t gold from drill hole ER-11-14.  The prospective calcareous siltstone horizon encountered in the 2011 drilling is interpreted to underlie the upper plate limestone in the vicinity of the jasperoid discovery.

Tarsis President & CEO, Marc Blythe stated “We’re very encouraged with the new developments on the Erika property.  The geology, interpreted structural architecture and surface soil geochemical signature in the vicinity of the newly discovered jasperoid mineralization elevate this target area to high priority status.  Tarsis plans to carry out infill soil sampling and further prospecting to prepare the area for drilling.  Carlin-Style systems are highly sought after because examples in Nevada contain large tonnages of high-grade gold ore and are significant contributors to production by major gold miners.”
