VANCOUVER, BC – May 1, 2012 – Orex Minerals Inc. (the “Company“) (TSX-V: REX) announces that it has engaged Jada Jennings as a Senior Communications & Investor Relations Consultant pursuant to an agreement dated May 1st, 2012 (the “Agreement“). Ms. Jennings will be based out of the Vancouver head office, and will report to Gary Cope, President.

Ms. Jennings has more than 16 years of corporate communications, media and public relations experience, both in-house and as a consultant. In accordance with the Agreement, she will be responsible for implementing day-to-day strategic communications and media relations efforts for the Company, in addition to spearheading ongoing investor relations initiatives to increase shareholder and retail/institutional market awareness of the Company and its projects. Ms. Jennings has vast experience working with Mexican gold and silver producers, having previously served as Director of Communications for SilverCrest Mines Inc. and as Manager, Corporate Communications for Genco Resources Ltd. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of British Columbia, and a Public Relations Certification from Langara College. Ms. Jennings is a past member of the Canadian Public Relations Society.

Ms. Jennings will initially be paid a fee of CAD $7,500 per month, for a period of one year. The Agreement is renewable, and is subject to regulatory approvals and conditions as set forth by the TSX Venture Exchange (“TSXV“).

The Company has also granted incentive stock options to Ms. Jennings to purchase 75,000 common shares in the capital of the Company, which are exercisable at $0.70 per share, being the closing market price on April 30th, 2012, the day preceding the grant. All options have a two year term, will vest quarterly over a period of 12 months and are subject to TSXV approval and applicable Company policies.

Ms. Jennings is arm’s length to the Company and does not have any interest, directly or indirectly, in the Company or its securities, or any right to acquire such an interest, other than the stock options granted to her pursuant to the Agreement.

Gary Cope, President, stated, “I am confident that by engaging Ms. Jennings, Orex will benefit from her best efforts to enhance the corporate image and increase international market awareness as the Company advances its projects in Sweden and Mexico.”
