The following companies are having unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 11:16 a.m. New York time.


The IPC index fell 1 percent to 36,098.09, as 32 of 37 stocks declined. Two rose and three were unchanged.


Alfa SAB (ALFAA MM), the world’s largest producer of aluminum engine heads, slipped 1.7 percent to 152 pesos. U.S. applications for first-time unemployment benefits increased by 26,000 to 397,000 in the week ended March 5, more than the median estimate of 376,000 claims in a Bloomberg survey of economists. The U.S. is Alfa’s second-biggest revenue source.


Grupo Mexico SAB (GMEXICOB MM), the country’s largest mining company, tumbled 2.2 percent to 42.14 pesos. Copper fell to the lowest in almost three months as imports slowed in China, the world’s biggest user, and amid rising concern that global growth may ease.


Industrias Penoles SAB (PE&OLES* MM), Mexico’s largest silver producer, declined 2.1 percent to 411.66 pesos. Silver for May delivery in New York fell 3.1 percent to $34.93 an ounce.
