The consortium made up of México Proyectos y Desarrollos and México Compañía Constructora (subsidiaries of the infrastructure area of Mexico Group, chaired by the businessman German Larrea) and the Spanish Acciona Construcción and its subsidiary Acciona Infraestructura México won this Friday the tender to build, electrify and preserve the southern section 5 of the Maya Trends (Playa del Carmen-Tulum), with its offer of 17,815.6 million pesos.

According to the verdict, published by the National Tourism Promotion Fund (Fonatur), the group “obtained the highest score in the evaluation of the technical proposal and the economic proposal, in addition to meeting all the requirements established in the applicable legislation.”

In this open international public tender, under electronic modality, nine consortiums participated with economic offers ranging from 15,543.4 million pesos to 28,116.8 million pesos (the one chosen was the fifth lowest).

The two cheapest offers (one led by the ASCH-Power China International Group duo and the other by CAABSA and COMSA) were rejected for not presenting documentation that would guarantee having the machinery and equipment required.

In the technical evaluation, the groups headed by: Aldesem- China Railway Construction Corporation, Operadora CICSA-La Peninsular and VISE-Rubau were also left out of the game.

Later, on the economic side, the consortiums led by the Caltia-Citcocomex Group and Sacyr-Calzada Construcciones duo were disqualified.

With these results, in the final stretch, the consortium of Mexican and Spanish construction companies prevailed over ICA, Mota Engil México, GAMI and IDINSA (companies that for their part participate in the construction of three sections of the Mayan Train and presented the second offer most expensive: 20,375.3 million pesos).
